Introductions

Internship proposal
We have a volunteer (Arlan) who wrote a proposal to intern at KOWA, helping the station create more organizational structure, and helping complete the daily tedium. Chuks will be his point of contact and we all think it a good idea. Chuks will move forward with Arlan.
Technical
Jeff Bartone from the Capital Theater came over Sunday and helped tweak some settings, and made many useful technical suggestions. Much of this is now documented at Needs. We've filled out our wish list with more research thanks to him.
TCTV is having a garage sale in three or four weeks. We might be able to get some technical stuff there for cheap.
We have a potential lead on a phone patch. Austin will follow up.
Ben has a new server, but is having some technical trouble getting the sound card to work under SuSE Linux. He'll overcome them soon.
Promotion
Austin sent out an announcement over email from the kowa@riseup.net email account. He sent it to the tesc-crier list and other places, but not our riseup announcement list.
We have some flyers designed and printed. We need to put out flyers.
We should continue to make more FCC-compliant station IDs.
Construction
We need to cost out the new studio construction. Craig Lawrence might be able to help. Ben has some leads too.
Scheduling
Our scheduling is a two phase process. First we decide whether a show falls within our mission and whether we want to play it. Next it moves to the scheduling committee to determine when to fit it in our schedule.
We have interest in multilingual programming. We should keep an eye our for consistently-producted foreign-language shows.
We could use a strong, weekly public affairs show, ala Democracy Now or the new One World Report. We should think about what we need to accomplish this. Some ideas are: news sources, a host, etc.
