Live broadcast

We had a seven-piece band in the studio Saturday night, which was fun, challenging, and idea inspiring. Some things worked, some things didn't. Our mixing board couldn't handle so many mics, so we have a 16-channel mixer on loan. Brandon, the owner of the mixer, is pretty audio smart, and wants to get involved, especially for live broadcasts and whatnot.

Carpentry

We have some leads on friendly carpenters who can help us cost out and build the new studio in the Media Island garage. Everyone will continue outreach in this area. If you know an able carpenter who can cost out projects, get in touch with them.

Promotion

We have a new flyer and poster (8.5 x 11) available on the Flyers page. Austin put some flyers out in downtown establishments.

New show idea: One World Report

The One World Report is produced by KBCS 91.3 in Bellevue. We received permission to rebroadcast their show. It is produced and airs on Thursday evenings, so we should probably play it Friday during the public affairs blocks.

Press passes

We should make professional looking (e.g. color, laminated) press passes for KOWA-LP so we can attend press conferences and other media events.

Event

Chuks would like to have an open house style event at Media Island in the next month or so. Let's think about it and cost it out a bit. We can add notes at Open House.

Public affairs show

We have some interviews lined up that would serve well as a base for a local public affairs show. Some people who've expressed interest in being interviewed are James Yee and Aaron Dixon, who is running for US Senate. Another idea is the Corrie family.

New show idea: Jay's talk show

We had a new volunteer, Jay, interested in doing a talk show. He thinks it should be an hour or two. He would discuss whatever is on his mind -- politics, religion, etc. His ideal show time is late night, one or two a.m. One issue in completing this is getting a phone patch. Twenty dollars was donated towards a new phone patch.

New show idea: Bookmarks

Ben has an idea for a show, an audio book hour called Bookmarks. It would air three time weekly, probably at night. It would require little production. Ben would start producing it, pre-recording the shows. Other volunteers could take over rather easily, coming in and playing audio books in studio.

New show idea: Eat the State!

Austin proposed we play Eat the State!, a thirty minute public affairs show.
