KOWA Meeting - Monday, August 28th, 2006, 6pm
Present: Chuks, Jay, Josh, Pila, Howard, Austin
Fundraising - have an open house sooner since big fundraiser can't get put together until early 2007. - Radio Ranch is a possibility for Sept. 30th and we have put down a deposit on it already. - Josh mentioned a swap meet, like the Downtown Neighborhood Association event. - Yohann and Jim's is another option for music, dinner, beer and gathering as a fundraiser.
Boeing Surplus / Needs List - More headphones - Y-splitter to attach headphones to an external monitor - an extension for the antenna boom - toolkit - professional-grade CD player - microphones & cords. - phone patch system - telephones - system to equalize all the sound coming out. - software to automate the canned shows; Andrew Jackson has the Rivendale software and we could rely on him; KOWA tech team can communicate about this too. - better way to convert downloads into programs and package files. This begs the question to bui8ld a production studio.

Josh applied to do a show and needs a day and time. Hobo Radio on travel music, boxcar music, alternative road travel. Josh was thinking in the evening anytime between 7-8pm or 8-9pm. Josh was flexible on the day of the week. Chuks suggested Thursday at 7pm and Josh was good with that - "Hobo Radio". Contact Josh at ontheroad@riseup.net
NW Community Radio Conference (Sept. 15-17th); http://www.reclaimthemedia.org/communityradio - admission is $50 a person. - you must fill out the online registration form to be considered for a registration scholarship. - maybe some informational flyers can be produced about KOWA to hand out.
Chuks wants to put together a regional political forum or debate. - U.S. Senate Race; Cantwell, Dixon, (and Republican). Howard will shop the idea to folks at KAOS.
Remind folks to make station IDs - "KOWA-LP, 106.5FM, Olympia" - Howard will confirm this format for the official station ID.
