Meeting Minutes - 2006-12-04

Minutes from the Monday KOWA-LP meeting.

There were 5 individuals that attended. The adgenda included the need for more programmers (DJs, Jay working on a flier, Brainstorming to increase listenership, PSAs, an introduction to a prospective program host (DJ) and an announcement regarding KOWA providing liquid refreshments at a performance at the Eagles Lodge on December 9th.

Once the flier is developed and produced, the plan is to distribute it to SPSCC, TESC, and local high-schools within reach of the KOWA-LP signal. Jay Hershey has been working on a document that he will show at the next meeting. The final format will be agreed upon by consensus.

There was a discussion regarding acceptable speech over the airwaves. What is likely liable, slander, satirical, and indecent or obscene. It was agreed that a single fine would kill the station.

Some of the brainstorming included an idea to invoke a radio karaoke competition between highschools that could bring forth more individuals inclined to use the radio as a means of media expression.

A person named Tre is interested in doing a one hour show on Wednesdays from 10pm to 11pm. He is interested in a mix of music and talk on local politics and related social issues.

The upcoming flier will include an invitations for groups to use the station to provide PSAs.
