There were 5 individuals present at the meeting. Several DJ programmers have apparently stopped showing up for their slotted shows. Chuks has attempted to contact them without success. There is a prevailing frustration with the lack of transmission power. We are transmitting at only a few watts and thus our signal transmits only a mile or two. This limitation has discouraged some of the producers such that they no longer attend.

The transmitter

There has been an ongoing effort to find someone with the skills and knowledge to diagnose and repair the failed components within the transmitter. Several individuals have looked at it but not effected any repairs. Once repairs are made, there is a plan to work on permanent placement on the hill with solar and wind generation power production so as to avoid carting up fuel every few days.

Programing

Sam-The-DJ is a program that will become the standard used in the near future instead of WinAmp. Sam-The-DJ has many feature superior to WInAmp. The problem has been that is is much more complicated and therefore fewer individuals have made an effort to learn it. There is a training planned to teach current and would-be Programmer/DJs to use it. There is no date set yet for a training but it will happen with the next few weeks.

Josh has returned and will continue with his show "Hobo Radio" set for Thursdays. Tania wants to begin a new show but details are sparse and she will get back to us with a firm day, time slot and subject within a week or two.

Streaming media

There is a desire to initiate streaming audio. Few people know how so there is a desire to have a training soon. Probably within the next few weeks.

Potluck

There is a plan to have a potluck meal/gathering at Media Island on Sunday March 18. Announcements over the air will begin henceforth and there will be a passing of the hat since no one has donated any money to the station other than Rick, Chuks or Ben. This is not necessarily a fund raiser but one is planned soon.

Grants

There is an ongoing search for Grant sources. One suggestion was the National Endowment For the Humanities. Dan and Chuks will check it out.
